The unique design allows it to collapse down to a mere one and a half Inch- the thickness of about two dinner plates. When collapsed, it takes up to 80 percent less space in a dishwasher than a comparable sized standard colander. When the colander is collapsed, the surfaces and holes remain exposed for optimum cleansing. This colander measures 10 Inch in diameter and is made from silicone with a sturdy plastic frame.
